THE NAME GAME
Does your character have a Japanese name?
Even though she is not Japanese?
Is it a name you came up with?
Is the character named after you?
Is it your pen name?
Is it a name you wish you had?
Is it your nickname?
Is the name unusual in any way? (i.e. apostrophes, dashes, etc.)
Is it a word that would not usually be used as a name? (Ignore, if homunculus.) I.e, Sorrow, Chastity, etc.
Does this word have anything to do with a special weapon, item, or form of alchemy?
Is it an exceptionally long name? (I.e, Ebony Dark'ness Deme
I've got ink throbbing through fissured veins,
poisoning every atom of my soul.
"Bite your tongue," they say.
How I'd love to chew the damn thing off
and suck down every filthy syllable
just like the rotten bone marrow it is.
They'd all watch as my body spontaneously combusts
and becomes nothing but convoluted karma.
And so I wrote,
"Dear poetry,
Teach me the ways of ripping out a human heart,
and stitching it onto ink-stained parchment."
The answer that came was rasped from a cauterized throat:
"Read your future in the collapsed palm of the stars;
find the abandoned pulse of your lionhearted muse;
steal their conformed scalpel and mak
Everyone wants to believe that they are special. Having magical powers, being long lost royalty, the Chosen Hero to save the day/world, being from another world, or being something more than human. There are endless possibilities if one has enough imagination. The truth of the matter is, everyone wants to believe that they have irreplaceable worth, and they do. It's just that they can't see it. See that whether they are just human or something completely Other, every person is different, and every one of them has worth.
This said, There are those of us who simply wish to be like everyone else. To be normal. To be human. To be accepted. Mos

Her small, anxious hands
grabbed the cup, a bit too large
as it slipped down and tumbled to the ground,
the milky mess covering the carpet:
her mother let out a disapproving sigh
and rolled her eyes,
“Will you ever do anything right?”
and that’s when she began
to limit her aspirations,
so that her dreams would never be too large,
so she’d never make any mistakes
she’d never again drop the cup,
but she’d never have enough to drink.
I don't know if I should be enraged, disgusted, or just simply laugh my ass off about this.
Like, seriously. How many of you guys have drawn an MLP character, canon or OC, and been called a pony fucker?
Like come on, seriously? I had Seafoam as my icon, and suddenly nobody would take me seriously because I like MLP?
You fucktards don't even know anything about me when making these bullshit accusations. You accuse me of wanting to fuck Fluttershy in the ass, but apparently you don't realize I'm a fuckin girl. If you knew that, you wouldn't be saying anything because you're sexist.
I'm also not some 40 year old creep. I'm a 21 year old woma
"Do you believe in fate, Neo?"
"No, because I don't like the fact
that my life is being controlled."
There is no one
There is no being
There is no higher
I shouldn't have to believe
in an invisible man
who commands us
from the big blue sky.
And so I don't!
I take heed of my own
life decisions.
I control them myself
And I walk my own paths.
I need no guidance
For I make the choices
I'm comfortable with
Whenever a fanatic
claims "Praise Jesus! Hallelujah!"
then I must cringe
and I try not to punch him.
Brainwashed zombies are those
who believe in religion of any kind.
So when someone tries to
Force religion on me

Oh how I hate the stars by CrumbledWings, literature
Literature
Oh how I hate the stars
Oh how I hate the stars
plaguing me each night
with cruel honesty
of their light
of how they hang
so far away,
nooses choking my hopes
with all they weigh.
Oh, how the stars hate me
waiting patiently
to shoot through,
and away from me
carrying with them
wishes I'll never see.
Oh stars
how the horrors of your light
blind me when I look to you
for something each night.
But with the coming of each day
I always forget
and every night
I'm forced to regret
when I look to your light.
Oh, how the stars hate me
and how I hate the stars
for the things which I see.

The Species Craze: A talk by Fenny
As everyone has probably noticed on DA as of now, the latest trend is the "Closed Species" If you are part of this circle (and it is a big circle of people) that's the hit happening thing. We see them everywhere, popping up in many shapes, sizes , and flavors.
There has been a great amount of reaction for it, so - I feel like I should put my two cents into it.
Let's start out by explaining my Background.
I am a writer and I am a biologist. I have written 2 complete novels (still in the editing process and hoping to be published one day) and I am a sophmore in college. I have taken classes on anatomy, physiology, ecology, general biology,

Okay, so I will now write about religion. The religion I am most familiar with (and the one everyone shoves down my throat) is Christianity. I am NOT against Christianity, actually. I am completely okay with talking and being friends with people who are Christians. However, it seems that once you tell them you are an atheist, some of them think you are a horrible Satan-worshipper and they try to 'fix' you. I realize that not all Christians are like that. I have some Christian friends that are fine with pe
